In 2023, an ICU stay and a diagnosis of diabetic ketoacidosis changed everything. The diagnosis: late-onset autoimmune diabetes (LADA) - often called Type 1.5.
Medication was necessary, but it couldn't be the only answer. Through intentional nourishment, disciplined movement, and lifestyle alignment, the mission became clear: help others restore the body, renew the mind, and reclaim dominion.
Diabetes has affected three generations - grandmother, father, sister, and Laverne herself. Their stories matter, and they are part of why this work exists.
